Pour House Pete's is Carnation's dive bar with a kitchen that keeps surprising people: the fish and chips come out long, thick, and juicy, the onion rings get called the best around, and the mac and cheese bites and cobb salad have their own following. Big Block Brewing has become one of downtown Carnation's true gathering places, a family owned taproom on Tolt Avenue where the retractable street-side window stays open and neighbors stop in to catch up over a pint. They brew more than 75 beers in house, welcome well behaved dogs into the beer garden, and let you bring in food from anywhere in town rather than trying to compete with the local restaurants. Thursday night trivia has become a weekly ritual, and the taproom regularly opens its space for local vendor markets, art nights, and community events.
