Duvall Rotary to Host Picnic for Peace

Neighbors, mark your calendars. The Rotary Club of Duvall is hosting the second annual Picnic for Peace on Sunday, September 20, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Depot Park, a free, family-friendly celebration held each year in honor of the International Day of Peace.

The afternoon brings the whole community together for live music from Emily McIntosh and Howard Mack, Terri the balloon artist, face painting, yard games, a pie-eating contest, a bake sale, peace-themed crafts and a community art installation built from messages of peace contributed by local schoolkids. Community partners Empower Youth Network and Northwest Art Center will be on hand as well.

It's a bring-your-own-picnic kind of afternoon, so pack a blanket and a basket, or grab takeout from one of our wonderful restaurants in town on your way to the park.

Why come? Because Picnic for Peace is a reminder that peace starts close to home, in how we treat our neighbors and show up for our community, and this is Duvall's chance to celebrate that together. Bring a blanket, bring the kids, and bring an appetite. It's free, it's for everyone, and it's a great way to spend a September afternoon in the park.
